At St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre, our business model is that of a wholesale nursery. Over the past few months, we have had many people ask us what exactly that means; and so, we thought it was high time we explained ourselves.
Our nursery produces large quantities for a wide selection of source-identified seed and plants native to Ontario. We do this to help our customers with their major restoration and planting endeavours. Our customers typically include Conservation Authorities, Municipalities, Landscape Architects, and other Nurseries, just to name a few. Because of this, our business is not set up for residential customers who only require a few items for their yards. In fact, we have a minimum order of $250 for anyone who is looking to make a purchase from our nursery.
However, we do our best to still serve these customer markets through our public sales that typically take place in the Spring and the Fall. Over the years, these sales have seen hundreds of people pass through our doors to purchase and learn more about native species. Additionally, we have recently introduced our online store, offered through our website. This store allows customers to order books, garden packs, and seed packs from St. Williams Nursery, and have them delivered right to their door. Lastly, we have done our best to take our plants to you, through our appearances at events in surrounding communities. To check out a full listing of our upcoming events, CLICK HERE
St. Williams Nursery & Ecology Centre is committed to protecting, conserving, and restoring the natural biodiversity in Ontario’s landscapes. To do this, we utilize our wholesale model to provide high quality product in the large quantities needed for ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation projects.
If you would like to like to see native plants at your local nursery, encourage them to consider carrying native plants in their inventory. We would be pleased to supply them to you through partner retail nurseries.
