Points of interest: - Known for having the largest leaf of any native tree (can get up to 90 cm long), which is compound and consisting of many small leaflets - In Ontario, this tree is threatened by a change in habitat and land being cleared for agriculture - They are also poor seed producers, must have both male and female trees present - It gets its name from early settlers who may have roasted seeds as a coffee substitute (although many parts can be toxic to humans)
